When stone piles or walls are built, the builder gets to decide the placement of every stone. Every construction you see, particulerly walls, someone chose it’s size, direction, and every piece in it. I know that sounds simplistic, but I try to keep that in mind. I believe some of the stones were certainly meant to be “special.”
I am trying to send a picture of a petroform from nearby my home in Durham, Maine (mid-coast). no luck sending it. It is a very interesting and large turtle. Maybe I can find some kid to to minimize my computer ignorance.
I shouldn't have tried doing this - I'm sorry I got over my head. Maybe someday I will learn to send some of many petroforms I also have pictures of a ceremonial site but do not know what the next step would be
