I've been zigzagging around the trails - and off the trails, getting to know the Elderslie Preserve. It's on my way home from my new job in Woodbridge CT and near where Peter lived many years ago (and a form of physical and mental therapy that would make my doctors happy). The stones are very different from the ones I'm most familiar with around where I live in Woodbury, but the animal effigy theme exists in the stone work as do other patterns that form the basis of this cultural landscape archeology I've been fascinated with since 1991.
