Three Marginal Scutes
Small carapace stone w/ those scutes in a garden: 3 foot long Carapace Stone with similar quartz marginal scutes on a zigzag stone row around a riparian zone of a small stream:
The last photo is by Peter Waksman, a large stone with the marginal scutes in quartz...
The first is in my sister's garden (the purplish quartz in the post before also) - the previous owner must've bulldozed a row into a swampy area and my sister has been slowly mining stones and the last is from Wednesday, April 25, 2007 "Strolling on Patch Hill in Boxborough, MA."
Where is that from?
